Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
Welcome to this year's Biathlon World Cup in Ruhpolding!
Once again this year we are looking forward to first-class competitions in the Chiemgau Arena in Ruhpolding, attracting the world's best biathletes to Upper Bavaria and turning the biathlon week into an internationally acclaimed sporting event. The biathletes compete in front of an extraordinary spectator backdrop and can also enjoy the hospitality of the people of Chiemgau. It is a great honor for me to be the patron of this year's Biathlon World Cup in Ruhpolding.
I wish all the athletes fair competitions and the spectators and fans from all over the world exciting and thrilling decisions. Athletes and spectators alike contribute to making the Biathlon World Cup in Ruhpolding a unique event that radiates far beyond Bavaria. Many hundreds of helpers contribute to the success of the World Cup, both in front of and behind the scenes. I would like to thank them wholeheartedly for their dedication and commitment. It is only thanks to their commitment that the Biathlon World Cup can be experienced to this extent in Ruhpolding. Thank you very much.
